You’ll find about 300 shops in this outlet mall, covering just about everything you could want to buy, from fashion to accessories to sporting goods. The outlet mall is conveniently located just across the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line Expressway, which runs under and over Tokyo Bay, making it easy to access by car or highway bus. There are a variety of ways to get here by train and bus from all over the Tokyo area, including a highway bus which will take you directly from the Bus Terminal Tokyo Yaesu at Tokyo Station in about 45 minutes.
At just about 30 minutes by train from Tokyo Station, Mitsui Outlet Park Makuhari is a popular shopping destination for those coming from Tokyo looking for a day of hunting for deals on both foreign and domestic brands. You’ll find about 140 shops here, ranging from high-end brands and boutiques to stores selling sports and lifestyle goods. It’s located in the “Makuhari New City” area of Chiba City, which is home to the Makuhari Messe concert hall and convention center, and ZOZO Marine Stadium. Just one train station away, or a quick bus ride, you’ll also find AEON MALL Makuhari New City (see below), one of Japan’s largest shopping malls.
Access:
While there are numerous ways to get here, the most common routes are by train via the Keiyo Line from Tokyo Station to JR Kaihimmakuhari Station, a trip which takes about 30-40 minutes, or by bus from Narita Airport (40 minutes) and Haneda Airport (50 minutes).

Conveniently located just 15 minutes from Narita Airport, this shopping mall is a favorite among travelers and locals alike. The floor guides are in Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, and Thai, making it easy to navigate, and the staff here make special efforts to show Japan’s renowned hospitality to international travelers. AEON MALL is well known for its wide selection of products, as well as a substantial selection of food in its grocery store, so it’s a great place to come and stock up on things you might need for your travels, or perhaps for when you depart from Narita Airport.

AEON MALL Makuhari New City is one of Japan’s largest shopping malls, with over 350 shops, and it’s easily accessible from Tokyo! This complex is so sprawling that it’s actually divided into four different connected malls: The Grand Mall, Family Mall, Pet Mall, and Active Mall. You’ll find all the usual AEON staples at the Grand Mall, plus a food court, a number of restaurants, a video game arcade, and even a movie theater. Stop by the Family Mall for shops both kids and parents will enjoy, or even the Pet Mall if you’ve got furry friends as part of your family too. For all your outdoor and sporting goods needs, head over to the Active Mall, where you’ll also find a huge 100-yen shop and electronics store.

The most direct route here is by taking the JR Keiyo Line to Makuharitoyosuna Station, a trip which takes about 35-40 minutes.
This shopping mall has it all and it’s just a quick train ride from Tokyo! With the frequent events, special promotions, and product rotation, visitors here will always find something new to explore. Many liken LaLaport to a city within a city, and you can easily spend an entire day here perusing the shops, or catching a flick at the movie theater.
