This park is where the castle of the Sakura samurai clan once stood. Traces of the castle can still be seen, but these days visitors come here mainly for picnicking and playing in the open fields, as well as for the variety of stunning flowers and plants that can be seen year-round. Magnolias and plum trees in the chilly months before spring, and naturally the national favorite of the Japanese in late March and early April: the cherry blossoms. As summer approaches, you'll see irises and lilies, and later in the fall, the vibrant yellows of ginkgo trees.
