This is one of the heartier Japanese sweets, steaming hot from a cast-iron grill. Imagawayaki is a cake with a rich, pancake-like batter, filled with either a white or red sweet bean paste, then baked in a cast-iron mold. They are best enjoyed right off the grill, but you can buy a pack here to take with you for later and reheat at your leisure. A modest old neighborhood shop next to Enpuku-ji Temple, Sanoya has long been a favorite of locals and visitors to the area. Come try this scrumptious sweet that sells over 1000 on busy days!
