Choshi Fishing Port is one of Japan's most productive fishing ports, bringing in a huge amount of fish every morning. Local shops here get the first pick of the fresh catch, and Shichibe (pronounced shichi-"bay") has established itself as one of the tastiest places around. The rice bowls topped with fresh sashimi are its namesake, but they also have dishes that change with the seasons: mackerel and sardines are quite famous here, and while a bit too fishy for some, the true fish lovers flock here year after year for the creative and delicious menu.
